Parkour / Free-running
This program is an introduction to common parkour movements, technique, and theory. The group-style classes focus on strength and conditioning, style, fluidity, agility, speed, jumping, and acrobatics. Students will learn to use their environment to get from one place to another in the most efficient way possible. Using the environment for acrobatics is also taught, though this is reserved for higher level students. Kids and adult programs available.
All levels of fitness are encouraged to try this group-style class that focuses on obstacle training, including countless varieties of hanging and jumping obstacles. Students typically take turns attempting set American-Ninja-Warrior-style challenges and push themselves to beat their own best record. This class is not a competition, but it is intended to prepare participants for American Ninja Warrior and also for local AMP Academy obstacle course competitions. Kids and adult programs available.
Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial art that incorporates music, dance, self-defense, and acrobatics. It was created by African slaves held captive in Brazil and is highly respected for its roots, earning a place as one of the most beautiful art forms in the world. Our group is from the lineage of Mestre Bimba, with the most recent ranking from Mestre Chuvisco of Mandingueiros dos Palmares. Come check out your first capoeira class for free and immerse yourself in the capoeira culture!
This line-style class is designed for both beginners of fitness and those with more experience. With different intensity level classes, AMP’s unique CapoFit class uses capoeira training techniques that focus on increasing strength, flexibility, and agility using only your own body. Though each class may target specific areas, this class is for overall body conditioning, including legs, core, and upper-body workouts. It’s the perfect class for overall fitness.
Buti Yoga is a tribe of empowered women who support each other in their quest for health and happiness. The movement methodology is drawn from primal movement, tribal dance and ancient yoga techniques to awaken the Shakti energy and free the mind.
